Bloxang haemostatic sponges are used on nasal, dermatological or tooth extraction to stop mild to medium bleeding.
In case of vascular breach, the body reacts with a protective mechanism that aims to prevent bleeding and keep the blood inside the blood vessels by repairing the gap in different stages. The primary hemostasis will first aggregating the platelets at the level of the gap in order to clog it, then coagulation, or secondary hemostasis, forms a clot in order to reduce bleeding.
What do Bloxang's hemostatic sponges come from?
Bloxang haemostatic sponges strengthen the haemostasis process as well as wound treatment. They act by buffering effect. Their porous texture allows them to absorb a large amount of blood.
Bloxang haemostatic sponges are entirely made from pure porcine gelatin. They are completely resorbable. They can be used either dry or saturated using a sterile physiological saline solution.
Once the bleeding has stopped, the sponge may be left in place. It will resorb or liquefy.
Located on a ooooled wound, the Bloxang sponge is a gel that acts in such a way as to protect the wound, allowing a non-paining change of the dressing.
