Infectious conjunctivitis is an inflammation of the eye, more specifically the conjunctiva, due to an infection caused by a virus or bacteria. It manifests as ocular discomfort (gritty eyes) and red eyes. These symptoms are often accompanied by watering, discharge, eyelid swelling, and itching.
Desodrop is an ophthalmic solution indicated to relieve the symptoms of inflammation in cases of eye infection. It can be used as supportive treatment for inflammation of the conjunctiva (conjunctivitis) or cornea (keratitis), whether viral, bacterial, or fungal. This ophthalmic solution is formulated with vegetable oil and liposomes, which act by stabilizing the lipid film. This reduces tear evaporation and instantly soothes the eyes. The sunflower oil has undergone an ozonation process, making it preservative-free. Its bioavailability is increased thanks to the liposomes. Desodrop also contains boric acid and borax, which have antiseptic properties.
