Biogaran Chlorhexidine Benzalkonium Benzyl alcohol solution is a medicine belonging to the family of local antiseptics and is used as a disinfectant in the antisepsis of shallow surgical and traumatic wounds, in the local adjunctive treatment of skin conditions, infected or at risk of infection and finally in the antisepsis of the skin before an operation.

For 100 ml of solution:
0.25 g Chlorhexidine digluconate
0.025 g Benzalkonium chloride
4 ml Benzyl alcohol

The other component is: Purified water.

Dosage of the antiseptic Biogaran Chlorhexidine Benzalkonium Benzyl alcohol

For damaged skin, the dosage is 1 application twice a day.
To prepare healthy skin for surgery, you must successively apply twice the solution corresponding to the cleaning/debridement phase and the antisepsis phase.

Follow the recommendations of the medical prescription.

Biogaran Chlorhexidine is applied locally via the skin for a duration consistent with that indicated in the prescription.

Precautions for use of Chlorhexidine Biogaran

Chlorhexidine Biogaran should be used with caution in newborns, particularly premature babies and in infants. In fact, it can cause chemical skin burns.

Contraindications of Chlorhexidine Benzalkonium Benzyl alcohol Biogaran

In case of allergy to chlorhexidine or to the quaternary ammonium family or to one of the other components contained in this medication, application in the ear canal in case of perforated eardrum, in the eyes, on the mucous membranes in particular genitals and use for the disinfection of medical-surgical equipment are contraindications to the use of the antiseptic solution.

Before using an electrical instrument, the solution must be allowed to dry, due to the risk of burns.
In addition, the antiseptic solution should not be used on a large surface area, under an occlusive dressing, on deeply burned skin, on premature or infant skin, due to the risk of passage into the general circulation.
Do not combine several antiseptics at the same time, as there is a risk of ineffectiveness later.

Pregnant or breastfeeding women should seek advice before using Biogaran Chlorhexidine Benzalkonium Benzyl Alcohol solution.
