The drug Arnica montana dose was developed from a plant strain derived from Arnica montana.
Arnica or mountain Arnica is a mainly perennial herbaceous plant on arid and rocky soils in mountainous regions throughout Europe, from the Pyrenees to the Urals via the Mediterranean and Scandinavian Alps. Arnica is a plant that is toxic when taken orally. The traditional medical use of mountain Arnica therefore most often boils down to its use in the form of ointments and other treatments with soothing and anti-inflammatory properties.
In order to dilute the toxicity of the Arnica montana strain, the Boiron laboratory will successively dilute it one hundredth, i.e. 1 drop of mother tincture for 99 drops of solvent.
