Composition of Cantharis granules

The strain that was used to develop Cantharis granules is Cantharis, which refers to the cantharid fly, an insect whose scientific name is Lytta vesicatoria.
This fly is also called Kite fly. This insect secretes a substance called cantharidin.
Cantharidin was used to make plasters, but also to make aphrodisiacs. This last use has been known since Antiquity.

The strain of animal origin was crushed and then brought into contact with a solvent incorporating alcohol. This is the maceration stage. At the end of this, a mother tincture is obtained, rich in active ingredients from the strain. This mother tincture is then diluted several times.
