Composition of Colchicum autumnale granules
The homeopathic strain used in the granules, Colchicum autumnale, is of plant origin. It comes from autumn colchicum, a bulbous herbaceous plant which is part of the Liliaceae family.
The mother tincture is made from the bulb of the colchicum plant, which contains a toxic substance called colchicine. The dilution and dynamization processes used in homeopathy aim to reduce this toxicity.
Hippocrates was the first to be interested in how homeopathy works. After falling into oblivion, his work inspired a German doctor, Samuel Hahnemann, at the end of the 18th century. It was he who established the main principles: similarity, dilution and dynamisation.
Each homeopathic remedy is made from what is called a homeopathic strain. This can be plant, animal or chemical. The mother tincture is extracted from it, which is then diluted several times. In homeopathy, we speak of a hundredth dilution. 1 drop of mother tincture mixed with 99 drops of solvent allows you to obtain a 1 CH dilution.
