The main use of graphite and its industrial exploitation concerns the manufacture of pencil leads, sometimes wrongly referred to as lead pencil due to the erroneous analogy made with metal.

Indeed, after maceration of the strain in an aqueous solution, a mother tincture is obtained which will serve as a basis for the final preparation of the medicine in the form of globules of sucrose and lactose.
