Composition of Naphthalinum granules

Naphthalinum granules incorporate a homeopathic strain, naphthalinum, mothballs and two excipients: sucrose and lactose.
Naphthalene comes from a hydrocarbon, naphthalene.
Naphthalene, the crystallized form of this hydrocarbon, is renowned for its particular odor. It was commonly used to scent laundry and repel moths.

To make this medicine, naphthalene was crushed for a long time using lactose, then diluted several times. Dilutions are very important in homeopathy, a practice founded by Samuel Hahnemann more than two centuries ago.
Naphthalinum granules is thus available in several dilutions. These are CH, Hahnemannian Centesimals. This indicates that there were dilutions to the hundredth.
The granules are impregnated with the diluted solution.

Dosage of Naphthalinum granules

The granules that make up this homeopathic medicine are to be taken orally and allowed to melt once placed under the tongue. For administration to a child under 6 years of age, they should be dissolved in a small amount of water before administering to the child.
