Polygonum aviculare granules is a homeopathic medicine from the Boiron laboratory.
What do Boiron Polygonum aviculare granules consist of?
The medicine Polygonum aviculare granules comes from a plant strain. Indeed, Polygonum aviculare is the scientific name of a plant, bird knotweed.
Bird knotweed is a weed plant so called because its seeds are eaten by birds. It can be found on the side of roads or in crevices. Bird knotweed has been used in traditional medicine: it is believed to have benefits in cases of joint pain or transit problems.
To make the granules that make up this homeopathic medicine, the plant was crushed and then brought into contact with a solvent with alcohol, in order to macerate it. At the end of this maceration step, a mother tincture containing Polygonum aviculare active ingredients was obtained. This was then diluted several times. The dilution, which holds a fundamental place in homeopathy, bears, when carried out to the hundredth, the name of Centesimal Hahnemannienne (CH).
Thus, Polygonum aviculare granules is available in a certain number of degrees of dilution. The name of these dilutions refers to the doctor who invented homeopathy, Doctor Samuel Hahnemann. After dilution and dynamization, there is an impregnation step, carried out on granules composed of sucrose and lactose, two excipients.
