The strain of this homeopathic medicine, Secale cornutum, comes from an extract of ergot occupying rye flowers.

This mycelium-type fungus, ergot, attaches to the plant before replacing the grain and falling to the ground shortly before winter to preserve itself before germinating again in spring. It contains numerous alkaloids which derive from lysergic acid, the natural component at the origin of LSD. Lysergic acid is used in the production of various medications.

After extraction, the homeopathic strain is immersed in an aqueous solution for a certain time in order to extract the main active ingredients. The mother tincture obtained is then diluted successively according to a process specific to homeopathy which in this case measures 1 drop of solution for 99 drops of solvent, purified water.
