Product Information

Sepia Officinalis granules is a homeopathic medicine from the Boiron laboratory.
Composition of Sepia officinalis granules
Sepia officinalis granules is a Boiron medicine obtained from an organic strain from the animal world, squid ink.

The cuttlefish is a cephalopod, the class of mollusks which includes squid and octopuses, marine animals whose heads are equipped with tentacles. Like many of its congeners, the cuttlefish has a black pocket containing a dark pigment which, mixed with the mucus, takes on the texture of a viscous liquid which the cephalopod uses as a smoke screen to disguise its escape or impress its adversary. Referred to as sepia, this ink has taken on different uses over time among humans, whether in graphic arts or cooking. It also gave its name to a family of brown pigments and the slight orange tint that the monochrome prints of the first photographic prints took on at the end of the 19th century.

The Boiron laboratory uses it for therapeutic purposes to prepare its homeopathic medicine Sepia Officinalis. After a first maceration, the mother tincture obtained is then diluted one hundredth several times then amalgamated with lactose and sucrose in the form of granules.
