Composition of Stramonium granules

The drug Stramonium granules is prepared on the basis of a plant strain of an aerial part of Datura.

Stramonium is the scientific name of a species of Datura, Datura stramonium, in French Datura officinal or stramoine.
Datura officinal is a plant from the Solanaceae family.
Originally from Mexico and the South-West of the United States, Datura has been exported to both tropical and temperate zones, notably on the European continent. Plants of this botanical genus are characterized by their great richness in alkaloid compounds, but are also renowned for their poisonous nature.

Like all homeopathic medicines, Stramonium offers several dilutions which adapt to different dosages. The pathological spectrum is in fact more or less broad and requires medical knowledge to determine the target. Dilution is a major principle of homeopathy which applies it to inhibit the toxic effects of the extract, after its maceration, without losing its imprint thanks to the purified water which would have a memory capacity. The final objective is to stimulate the body's natural defenses in order to help it develop mechanisms specific to the pathology, like a vaccine.

Once the dilutions have been made, here in hundredths, the product is then mixed with sucrose and lactose, before being shaped into granules.

Dosage of Stramonium granules

The dosage of the homeopathic medicine Stramonium is at the discretion of the doctor depending on the pathology and physiology of the patient.
Stramonium granules should be melted under the tongue.
