What are Tarantula hispana granules?

To produce this medicine, the granules, which are composed of two excipients, sucrose and lactose, are impregnated using a diluted mother tincture. The latter is made from the Tarantula hispana strain.

Tarantula hispana is a strain of animal origin. It comes from the Spanish tarantula or Lysoca tarantula.

The Spanish tarantula is a spider that can cause painful bites.

To make the mother tincture which will contain the active ingredients of the strain, the spider is crushed and left to macerate in contact with a solvent containing alcohol. After this maceration step, the mother tincture is diluted several times. Thus, this makes it possible to obtain the different degrees of dilutions, indicated in CH. The word CH symbolizes the Hahnemannian Centesimals which are dilutions to the hundredth. Their name comes from Samuel Hahnemann, a doctor who founded homeopathy at the end of the 19th century.

Dosage of Tarantula hispana granules Boiron

This homeopathic medicine is taken orally. The granules should be allowed to melt once placed under the tongue. For administration to a child under 6 years old, these granules should be dissolved in a little water.
