Boiron veterinary osteocynesin tablets is a homeopathic medicine combining several strains and traditionally used in cases of calcium metabolism disorders (used in treatments: hyperthyroidism in cats. It is suitable for all species: dogs, cats, horses, sheep, goats, cattle, pigs, etc.

Calcium is a metallic element which is involved in many processes: nerve conduction, hormone production, coagulation, muscle contraction, etc. Hypocalcemia can cause neuromuscular disorders and bone fragility. Conversely, hypercalcemia can cause osteochondrosis or harm the skin.

One 1 g osteocynesin tablet is formulated with 26 mg of Calcarea ostreica 2 DH, 26 mg of Calcarea phosphorica 2 DH, 26 mg of Calcarea fluorica 2 DH and 2.6 mg of Sulfur iodatum. The excipients are sucrose, lactose and magnesium stearate QSP 1 g.
Dosage of Boiron veterinary osteocynesin tablets
The tablets are to be administered to the animal orally. For dogs, 2 to 3 tablets should be given twice a day. For puppies and cats, the dosage is 1 to 2 tablets 2 times a day. For adult horses, it is 5 tablets twice a day, for foals, it is 4 tablets twice a day. Lambs, piglets and kids should be given 2 to 3 tablets twice a day, and for sheep, goats and calves 4 tablets twice a day. Adult cattle and dairy cows should be administered 5 tablets 2 times a day, and adult pigs and sows 4 tablets 2 times a day.

The safety of this medication during gestation and lactation has not been studied, but homeopathic medications are traditionally used in lactating and pregnant females.
