Drill lozenges with anise and mint flavor are a non-prescription medicine that can be consumed at the first symptoms of sore throat, mouth ulcers or small sores in the mouth. It is intended to relieve discomfort thanks to the presence in its formula of chlorhexidine digluconate at 3 mg and tetracaine hydrochloride at 0.20 mg per 2.5 g tablet. The notorious excipient of this medicine is Isomalt (E953). Sugar-free, Drill anise mint lozenges are suitable for diabetics.
Dosage of Drill anise mint
This sore throat medication is intended for adults and children aged 6 and over.
Adults are allowed to take 1 lozenge 4 times a day, respecting a minimum of 2 hours between doses, while children aged 6 to 15 should be content with 1 lozenge 2 to 3 times a day, with the same spacing between doses.
Slowly suck the lozenges away from meals.
The duration of treatment, in both cases, should not exceed 5 days. If symptoms persist, it is recommended to seek medical advice.
Contraindications
Due to the presence of aspartame, which acts as a sweetener, the medicine Drill Anis mint is not authorized in cases of phenylketonuria.
Do not hesitate to seek advice from a doctor or pharmacist if you take an antiseptic, mouthwash or nasal solution at the same time.
Its intake is strongly discouraged during pregnancy and breastfeeding, due to a lack of clear conclusions regarding its effects.
