Sugar-free Drill lozenges with Honey Lemon flavor are used for mild sore throats without fever, but also to relieve canker sores and small mouth sores.
This throat medication available without a prescription is intended for adults and children aged 6 and over.
Drill tablets contain an anesthetic: tetracaine to reduce pain and a local antiseptic: chlorhexidine which acts against bacteria and viruses present in the ENT area.
Honey Lemon Drill Formula
Each Drill Honey Lemon throat lozenge contains 3 mg of chlorhexidine digluconate and 0.2 mg of tetracaine hydrochloride.
The list of excipients is as follows: honey flavor (natural flavoring substances, propylene glycol), lemon flavor (geranium oil, beta-pinene, citral, citronellal, citronella oil, lemon oil, limonene, terpinolene) peppermint flavor (star anise essential oil, clove essential oil, peppermint essential oil, L-menthol, essential oil wild mint), ammonium glycyrrhizate, acesulfame potassium, quinole yellow (E104), caramel (E150b), isomalt (E953).
Dosage of Drill Honey Lemon lozenges
For those over 15 years old, it is recommended to take 1 tablet maximum 4 times a day.
Between 6 and 15 years old, take 1 tablet 3 times a day maximum.
Drill lozenges will be sucked slowly without being chewed and away from meals, respecting an interval of at least 2 hours between doses.
The duration of treatment with Drill throat lozenges will not exceed 5 days.
If symptoms persist or worsen (fever, severe pain, cough with sputum, difficulty swallowing), it is necessary to consult a doctor.
Precautions for using Drill without sugar
It is best not to use Drill lozenges during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Do not use multiple medications containing an antiseptic or anesthetic at the same time.
Prolonged use of Drill throat lozenges may cause an imbalance in your oral flora. A brown discoloration of the tongue or teeth may also occur: it is not serious and disappears when treatment is stopped and with regular and scrupulous brushing.
Do not take sugar-free Drill lozenges if you are fructose intolerant.
Do not take just before drinking or eating to avoid the risk of misdirection due to the presence of the anesthetic.
If you experience an allergic reaction (rash, swelling of the face or mouth, difficulty breathing), you should stop taking the medication and contact a doctor immediately.
If a person has taken too many lozenges, contact a doctor or go to the nearest hospital immediately. Chlorhexidine can cause digestive and hepatic problems, burning sensations in the throat or mouth, as well as a slight disorder of coordination of movements. Tetracaine may cause numbness of the tongue and a feeling of choking. It can cause nervousness, vision disturbances, convulsions, disorders of the cardiovascular system (ventricular arrhythmia, bradycardia, hypotension) and methemoglobinemia, a blood abnormality.
As with any medication, read the instructions carefully before taking Drill Honey Lemon.
