Drosetux homeopathic syrup is a medicine that is traditionally used in the treatment of dry coughs, irritation and annoying non-productive coughs.
In its composition, we find the following strains: Arnica montana 4CH, Belladonna 4CH, Cina 4CH, Coccus cacti 5CH, Corallium rubrum 4CH, Cuprum metallicum 5CH, Drosera 4CH, Ferrum phosphoricum 5CH, Ipeca 4CH, Solidago virga aurea 3DH. They are present at 0.1%.
The other ingredients are: sucrose solution, sodium benzoate (E211), citric acid monohydrate (E330) and purified water. Sucrose and sodium benzoate are excipients with a notorious effect.
Dosage of Drosetux dry cough syrup
Drosetux syrup contains sucrose and comes with a measuring cup for easy administration.
Before the age of 5, a dose of 2.5ml will be given, 3 to 4 times a day.
From 5 years old, a 5 ml dose can be administered 3 to 5 times a day.
While in adults, we will take 15 ml of Drosetux syrup, 2 to 3 times a day.
The treatment should not exceed 5 days in the absence of medical advice.
These doses should be spread throughout the day, preferably outside of meals.
Precautions for use of Drosetux cough syrup
Drosetux syrup should not be used in cases of wet, i.e. productive, cough (presence of mucus in the bronchi) because the cough should not be stopped so that the secretions are evacuated. It should not be taken in case of hypersensitivity to any of the components.
Due to the sucrose present in the composition of Drosetux, this syrup should not be taken if you have fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome or sucrase/isomaltase deficiency (rare hereditary diseases).
This presence of sugar must be taken into account in the event of a slimming diet or diabetes:
- 2.1 g of sucrose per 2.5 ml dose
- 4.2 g of sucrose per 5 ml dose
- 12.6 g of sucrose per 15 ml dose
With less than 1 mmol sodium per dose, it is essentially “sodium-free”.
Drosetux can be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
This medication should not be administered to a child under 30 months of age without medical advice.
