WHO IS THIS MEDICATION FOR?
Fervex Adult is reserved for adults and children weighing at least 50 kg (approximately 15 years and older). Children weighing less than 50 kg require an appropriately dosed pediatric paracetamol presentation. Pasted markdown
DOSAGE & DIRECTIONS
Take 1 sachet per dose, with at least 4 hours between doses.
The maximum recommended daily dose for adults and children weighing at least 50 kg is:
3 sachets per day, providing:
- 1,500 mg paracetamol
- 75 mg pheniramine

Dissolve the contents of the sachet in a sufficient amount of cold or hot water. During flu-like conditions, it is preferable to take the medicine dissolved in hot water in the evening. Pasted markdown
For people with liver impairment, chronic alcoholism or Gilbert syndrome, the maximum paracetamol intake should not exceed 2,000 mg (2 g) per day. People with kidney impairment require dosage adjustment and should consult a physician. Pasted markdown
IMPORTANT WARNINGS & PRECAUTIONS
Do not take Fervex Adult if you are allergic to its active ingredients or other components, have certain types of glaucoma, have difficulty urinating due to prostate or other causes, or have severe liver disease. Pasted markdown

- Weigh less than 50 kg
- Have kidney or liver disease
- Are elderly
- Regularly consume alcohol or recently stopped consuming alcohol
- Have chronic malnutrition, fasting, recent weight loss, anorexia or cachexia
- Are dehydrated
- Have G6PD deficiency

Stop treatment and consult your doctor in the event of acute viral hepatitis. Medical advice is also recommended if symptoms persist beyond 5 days for pain or 3 days for fever, worsen, or new symptoms appear. Pasted markdown
IMPORTANT DRUG INTERACTIONS
Fervex Adult contains paracetamol, pheniramine and vitamin C. Do not combine it with other medicines containing these same ingredients or other antihistamines, as this may result in exceeding recommended doses. Pasted markdown
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you take medicines that may affect the liver, oral anticoagulants, flucloxacillin, sedatives, opioid medicines, atropinic medicines or other relevant medications. Alcohol and medicines containing alcohol should be avoided during treatment. Pasted markdown
DROWSINESS & DRIVING
Fervex Adult may cause drowsiness or reduced alertness, particularly because of pheniramine. This effect can be increased by alcohol, medicines containing alcohol and sedative medicines. Pasted markdown
PREGNANCY & BREASTFEEDING
Use during pregnancy is not recommended.
Fervex Adult should not be used during breastfeeding.

SUGAR & OTHER EXCIPIENT INFORMATION – REGULAR FORMULATION
The regular Fervex Adult formulation contains 7.6 g of sucrose per sachet.
It also contains:
- 5 mg fructose
- 195 mg glucose
- 10 mg sugar syrup
- 7 mg ethanol per sachet

SUGAR-FREE VERSION
The Sugar-Free variant is formulated without the sucrose used in the regular formulation. The Sugar-Free version is a separate product presentation and should be selected specifically when purchasing that variant.
OVERDOSE
Do not exceed the recommended dose.
An overdose of paracetamol can cause serious and potentially fatal liver damage. Overdose may also result in encephalopathy, coma or death. Pheniramine overdose may cause seizures, loss of consciousness and coma.
In case of overdose, stop taking the medicine and seek immediate medical attention, even if you feel well. Pasted markdown
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
As with all medicines, Fervex Adult may cause side effects.
Reported effects associated with paracetamol include skin redness, rash, urticaria, purpura, diarrhea and abdominal pain. Rare or very rare serious skin reactions and blood abnormalities have also been reported.
Possible pheniramine-related effects include drowsiness, dizziness, reduced alertness, dry mouth, urinary difficulties, visual disturbances, constipation, palpitations, confusion, tremor, agitation and allergic reactions. Pasted markdown
Seek immediate medical attention for signs of a serious allergic reaction or severe skin reaction.
STORAGE
Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.
