Gaviscon sachets is an antacid medicine that treats gastroesophageal reflux disease. It relieves heartburn, acid reflux and stomach soothing that accompany this pathology.
Composition of Gaviscon sachets
Gaviscon sachets is composed of active substances, sodium alginate (500 mg) and sodium bicarbonate (267 mg) for a 10 ml dose sachet. The other constituents are calcium carbonate, carbomer (974P), sodium saccharin, natural mint flavour, sodium hydroxide, purified water, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218) and propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 216).
Dosage of the medicine Gaviscon sachet
Gaviscon sachets dose is administered orally. The sachet should be kneaded before opening and swallowing as it is. It should be taken after meals, at a rate of 1 sachet 3 times a day after the main meals, and possibly in the evening at bedtime. In case of severe oesophageal reflux disease, this dose may be increased by following your doctor's recommendations.
