Sambucus licorice paste is a homeopathic medicine from the Boiron laboratory traditionally used in the symptomatic treatment of hoarse cough and hoarseness.
This medication is reserved for adults and children aged 6 and over.
The active substance is the mother tincture of Sambucus nigra.
The other ingredients are: licorice juice, gum arabic, sucrose, liquid glucose, sorbitol, paraffin oil.
Dosage of Sambuscus licorice pastes
Adults can take up to 5 Sambucus licorice pastes to suck per day.
Children from 6 years old can take 3 Sambucus licorice pastes to suck per day.
Treatment should not exceed one week.
Contraindications of licorice pastes with Sambucus
Licorice pastes with Sambucus from the Boiron laboratory are contraindicated in the event of an allergy to one of the active substances or one of the components contained in this medication. It is also contraindicated in people with hypertension due to the presence of glycyrrhizinic acid contained in licorice juice.
This medication is contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
As this medicine contains sucrose, glucose syrup and invert sugar. Its use is not recommended in patients with fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency.
Patients with intolerance to glycyrrhizinic acid should not take this medicine.
