Lysopaïne lemon ginger throat lozenge is a medicine indicated for children over 6 years old and adults as an additional local treatment in cases of mild sore throat not accompanied by fever.

This medication has antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus at a temperature of 35°C and with a contact time of 15 minutes.

Composition of a Lysopaïne lozenge for sore throat lemon ginger

One Lysopain tablet contains two active substances: 1.5 mg of cetylpyridinium chloride and 520,000 FIP-Units (Fédération Internationale Pharmaceutique standard) of lysozyme hydrochloride. Its other components are saccharin, magnesium stearate, lemon flavor (contains flavoring preparation, corn maltodextrin, gum arabic E414, ascorbic acid E300, butylated hydroxyanisole E320, sodium, sulphites, citral, d-limonene), ginger flavor (contains flavoring preparation, potato maltodextrin, gum arabic E414, sodium, sulphites, citral, d-limonene, linalool) and sorbitol.

Dosage of Lysopain sore throat Lemon ginger

The dosage is, on average, 3 to 6 tablets per day. The doses will be distributed evenly throughout the day, taking care to respect a minimum time of 2 hours between each dose. The maximum processing time is 5 days.
This medication is taken orally; these tablets must be allowed to dissolve in the mouth.
If you take too much of this medication, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately.

Precautions for using Lysopaine sugar-free lozenges Lemon ginger

This medicine should never be taken by a child under 6 years of age, nor in case of allergy (hypersensitivity) to its active substances or to any of its components, which includes allergy to lysozyme or allergy to egg.
If you have an intolerance to certain sugars or hereditary fructose intolerance, you should contact your doctor before taking this medication. It is sweetened with saccharin and sorbitol, which is a source of fructose. The flavors of this medicine contain sulphites which may in rare cases cause severe hypersensitivity reactions and bronchospasm. It also contains citral, linalool and d-limonene, compounds which can cause allergic reactions, and E320 in the lemon flavor which can trigger irritation of the mucous membranes.
With less than 1 mmol (23 mg) sodium per tablet, Lysopain Sore Throat Sugar Free Lemon Ginger is essentially “sodium free”.

You should not take this medication for more than 5 days because it can alter the natural microbial balance of the mouth and throat.
If a fever occurs, if there is purulent sputum or if you feel discomfort when swallowing food, or if the sore throat worsens or persists after 5 days, you should consult your doctor.
Several medications formulated with an antiseptic should not be used simultaneously.
