Mucomyst 200 mg is a mucolytic medication, meaning it thins bronchial secretions, facilitating their evacuation. It is indicated for cases of recent respiratory illness with difficulty expectorating.
Composition of Mucomyst 200 mg, acetylcysteine ??medication
Each sachet of Mucomyst contains 200 mg of N-acetylcysteine, the active ingredient in this medication. It also contains glycine, desiccated sodium citrate, mandarin powder, orange flavoring (contains sucrose), sodium saccharin, beta-carotene 1% CWS (beta-carotene, gum arabic, sucrose, dextrins, edible fats, alpha-tocopherol, ascorbic acid), and sucrose as excipients. Mucomyst sachets contain sugar (please note this if you are on a hypoglycemic diet).

How to use Mucomyst sachets for chesty coughs?
Mucomyst is recommended for adults and children over 7 years of age. Take 1 sachet in the morning, 1 sachet at noon, and 1 sachet at 4 p.m. (i.e., 600 mg per day). Dissolve the sachets in water. It is best to take them before meals.
Do not exceed 5 days of treatment. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult your doctor.
Precautions and contraindications for Mucomyst 200 mg
Do not use Mucomyst without medical advice if you have a stomach ulcer, chronic bronchial conditions, or if your sputum is purulent.
When using Mucomyst, be sure to expectorate thoroughly to avoid causing bronchial congestion, especially if you have a history of asthma.
If you are allergic to any of the ingredients, you should not use Mucomyst.
Do not take Mucomyst in combination with a cough suppressant or medication that dries bronchial secretions.
Pregnant women: can Mucomyst be taken?
If pregnant, avoid using Mucomyst.
Mucomyst and breastfeeding
You can take Mucomyst if you are breastfeeding.
