Description
MyleuGYNE LP 150 mg is a vaginal antifungal medicine containing econazole nitrate. It is indicated for the local treatment of vulvovaginal yeast infections (vulvovaginal mycoses), including infections that may be associated with Gram-positive bacteria.
The pack contains 2 prolonged-release vaginal ovules for local treatment.
Indications
Local treatment of vulvovaginal mycosis, which may or may not be associated with a superinfection caused by Gram-positive bacteria.
Active Ingredient
Econazole nitrate – 150 mg per vaginal ovule
Ingredients
Econazole nitrate 150 mg.
Excipients: Galactomannan, colloidal anhydrous silica, solid semisynthetic glycerides, stearyl enanthate.
Directions for Use
In the majority of cases, insert 1 vaginal ovule in the evening at bedtime as a single administration. Insert the ovule deeply into the vagina, preferably while lying down.
For recurrent or treatment-resistant infections associated with contributing factors, the recommended regimen may be 1 ovule in the evening at bedtime followed by 1 ovule the next morning.
Do not interrupt treatment during menstruation unless otherwise directed by a healthcare professional.
Pharmacist's Advice
- Maintain appropriate intimate hygiene during treatment.
- Use a neutral- or alkaline-pH cleansing product.
- Wear cotton underwear and avoid vaginal douching.
- Avoid using internal tampons during treatment.
- Where possible, contributing factors should be addressed.
- Treatment of a sexual partner should be considered on a case-by-case basis by a healthcare professional.
- For vulvar or perianal extensions of the infection, a topical antifungal treatment may be recommended in combination with the vaginal ovules.
Contraindications & Precautions
Do not use MyleuGYNE LP if you are hypersensitive or allergic to econazole or any of the ingredients.
Important: The product should not be used with latex diaphragms because it may compromise the effectiveness of latex contraceptive devices.
