Product Information

Stodal syrup is a homeopathic medicine whose traditional use is the treatment of coughs in adults and children. It comes in the form of a syrup packaged in a bottle delivered with a measuring cup with graduations of 5 and 15 ml.

The homeopathic strains which make up the stodal syrup are Antimonium tartaricum 6 CH, Bryonia 3 CH, Coccus cacti 4 CH, Drosera 3 CH, Ipeca 3 CH, Rumex crispus 6 CH, Spongia tosta 4 CH, Sticta pulmonaria 3 CH, each at a rate of 2 g per 100 g of syrup.
Its other ingredients are sucrose solution, sodium benzoate (E211), citric acid monohydrate (E330) and purified water.

Dosage of Stodal cough syrup

In children, a dose of 5 ml, using the measuring cup, 3 to 5 times a day, respecting an interval of at least 4 hours between two doses, due to the presence of alcohol in this syrup. In adults, a dose of 15 ml, also using the measuring cup, 3 to 5 times a day. The treatment should not exceed one week for adults, and 5 days for children, because of the alcohol contained in the syrup. However, the absence of improvement after 3 days requires a medical consultation. As soon as there is improvement, you should space out the doses and stop them as soon as the symptoms disappear.

Precautions for use of Stodal homeopathic syrup

It is necessary to inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, might take or have recently taken any other medicines.

Stodal contains sucrose, so it is not recommended for people with fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome or sucrase/isomaltase deficiency (rare hereditary diseases).

This should also be taken into account in the event of a low sugar diet or diabetes. Stodal syrup also contains alcohol: 1.06% V/V of ethanol its use should be avoided in pregnant or breastfeeding women, in patients at risk such as those with liver failure, epileptics as well as in alcoholic patients.

A 5 ml dose contains 0.042 g of ethanol and 3.45 g of sucrose.
A 15 ml dose contains 0.125 g of ethanol and 10.3 g of sucrose.

There is a Stodaline sugar-free cough syrup.

A dose of 15 ml is equivalent to 1.3 ml of wine and 3.2 ml of beer. The use of this medication represents a danger for alcoholic subjects.

This medicine also contains benzoic acid, 16.2 mg per 15 ml and 5.4 mg per 5 ml, which corresponds to 1.08 mg/ml.
