Biogaran Amylmetacresol/Dichlorobenzyl Alcohol Honey-Lemon Lozenges

Biogaran Amylmetacresol/dichlorobenzyl alcohol honey-lemon lozenges is a medicine formulated with two local antiseptics: amylmetacresol and 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol. It is indicated in cases of mild sore throat not accompanied by fever. It comes in the form of sweetened tablets 19 mm in diameter.

The active substances of this medicine are Amylmetacresol (0.6 mg/lozenge) and 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol (1.2 mg/lozenge). Its other components are peppermint essential oil, quinoline yellow aluminum lake (E104), sodium saccharin, tartaric acid, orange yellow S (E110), lemon oil, honey flavor, isomalt (E953) and maltitol (E965).
Dosage of Biogaran Amylmetacresol/dichlorobenzyl alcohol 0.6 mg/1.2 mg honey lemon

Always follow the instructions in the leaflet or the directions of the doctor or pharmacist.
This medication is reserved for adults and children over 6 years old. It is recommended to take 1 tablet, 3 to 6 times a day. The lozenge should be sucked slowly and not chewed or swallowed, away from meals.
The sockets must be spaced out.

Do not take more than 5 days.
Precautions for use of Biogaran Amylmetacresol/dichlorobenzyl alcohol honey lemon lozenges

This medicine should never be taken if you are allergic to any of its active substances or any of its other components.
It should never be given to a child under 6 years old.

Taking it for more than 5 days is not recommended due to the risk of imbalance in the oral and throat microbiota.

If a fever occurs, or in the event of purulent sputum (sputum), discomfort when swallowing food or worsening or lack of improvement after 3 days, you should consult your doctor.
In case of fever, extensive lesions or extension of lesions in the mouth, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Medicines contain Amylmetacresol/dichlorobenzyl alcohol antiseptics Biogaran. Care must be taken not to combine them so as not to exceed the maximum recommended doses.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant. Taking Amylmetacresol/dichlorobenzyl alcohol Biogaran is not recommended during pregnancy and in women of childbearing age who are not using contraception. This medicine should not be used while breastfeeding.

If you have an intolerance to certain sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medication.

Orange yellow S (E110) may cause allergic reactions.

This medicine is essentially “sodium-free”: it contains less than 1 mmol (23 mg) of sodium / tablet.

If you have taken too much of this medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have any abnormal symptoms.

Biogaran also offers Alfa Amylase 3000U for sore throats. It contains an enzyme with anti-inflammatory purposes.
