The drug Onosmodium virginianum granules incorporates a plant strain, Onosmodium virginianum (or virginicum).

This is the scientific name of a herbaceous plant in the Boraginaceae family, native to the East Coast of the United States and commonly called gravel grass.

During the development of this medicine, a diluted mother tincture of the plant extract was used to impregnate granules consisting of sucrose and lactose.
