The active ingredients of Gaviscon infant are sodium alginate (5.00 g) and sodium bicarbonate (2.67 g) per 100 ml of oral suspension. The sodium content is 1.45 g (i.e. 63 mEq) per 100 ml.

How to use Gaviscon infant syrup

The oral suspension Gaviscon infant should be given orally and after meals, via the supplied pipette (graded in ml). It must not be mixed with milk or food.

The first handling of the pipette does not make it possible to restore the desired dose. It is necessary to go back up or down the pipette before carrying out the first sampling in order to avoid this phenomenon.

Before each use the vial should be well shaken and, after each use, it is important to remove the plunger from the syringe body, then rinse and dry the pipette thoroughly, before retracting the system and replacing it in its sheath.

  • Between 4 and 18 months: 2.5 ml after each of the 4 meals.
